Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity will be building one single-family home on a small lot on Westhampton Rd (Rt 66) in Northampton, MA.  Located in the suburban outskirts of the village of Florence in the city of Northampton, the home is located on a moderately busy road with easy access to other parts of the city by car.

Habitat plans to build a one-story, 1-bedroom home on this site that will be adaptable for someone with mobility impairments.

Habitat homes are modest and simple with small square footages. The home will be energy efficient and built to ENERGY STAR standards. The home will be all electric and heated with an Air Source Heat Pump. Outdoor storage in an attached shed will be provided. The home will be built on a slab – so there will be no basement storage. There will also be no attic storage since the attic will be reserved for insulation. Basic appliances will be provided with the house. There will not be a garage.

Three information sessions will be held. It is recommended that you attend an information session before applying to learn more about the Habitat homeownership process and the specific project.
